Course content: In all of my courses I teach hand-building techniques and how you can create beautiful pieces without a potter's wheel. In our intensive course you can immerse yourself in the art of pottery for five days, get to know the material clay and deepen everything you have learned by realising your own small projects. In five days you will learn the hand-building techniques that I prefer to work with and create all of my pieces. I will accompany you step by step in making your first small cups, larger mugs, bowls, plates and much more, help you correct mistakes and give lots of helpful tips. Throughout this time I will introduce you to the beautiful material clay and give you many insights into my work. Of course, I will be happy to answer your questions about pottery! On the fourth day you can try out my black clay and make small pieces with it. I'll give you tips on working with different types of clay, what to keep in mind, and how the process changes with a different clay. On the last day I will also introduce you to the art of glazing and show you the basic techniques. You will glaze two pieces provided by me, which you can keep after the course. I explain what is important when glazing, tell you a little about the kiln and the firing process, how you can avoid glazing mistakes and much more. Since your self-made pieces dry for a few days and have to be fired once before they can be glazed, I'll take care of the glazing here. You can choose your favorite colors from a small selection of my glazes. I will send all the glazed pieces home to you a few weeks after the end of the course (if you are there longer, you can of course also pick them up in person at the store - at least 1-2 weeks after the course). Facts: - the course takes place from Friday to Tuesday - a total of 5 days / 16 hours - Making your own pieces using different techniques - Decoration techniques with engobe, carving etc. - Working with black clay - Basics of glazing - Material, firings, glazing, small snacks and drinks included - shipping costs will be charged additionally (depending on destination country / Germany and Austria: 10 euros, Switzerland: 30 euros, EU: 16-30 Euros) - I will send you all of your finished coursework after the course, including the pieces I provided
